2013 Young Artist Competition Winners Announced!
Woodwind division winner: Caleb Mitchum, flute, OCU
Brass division winner: Ernesto Tovar, horn, OSU
String division winner: Emily Bishop, violin, OU
Piano division winner: Zhander P'ng, OCU
Emily Bishop and Zhander P'ng are the two over-all winners who will perform with the orchestra in April. Emily will be playing the first movement of the Saint-Saens Violin Concerto #3, and Zhander will be playing the first movement of the Tschaikovsky Piano Concerto #1.
Congratulations to the winners, and kudos to ALL of the contestants. 29 of 38 paid entrants auditioned, and the competition was steep! We were delighted to have such a high level of performance!
