2008 Young Artist's Competition Soloists
Anna Starzec, first prize winner
A native of Poland, Anna graduated from I.J. Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan, Poland in 2006. She is currently a graduate piano student of Professor Amy I-Lin Cheng at Oklahoma City University. This is Anna's second appearance with the Oklahoma Community Orchestra. She was last year's second place winner in the orchestra's Young Artist Competition. During this past year, she has given several piano recitals, including one at the Oklahoma Governor's Mansion. In May, she will be a soloist at the Blumenthal International Music Festival in Tel Aviv, Israel; and she will perform at Bartlesville's Mozart Festival in June.

 

Siqi Li, second prize winner
Siqi Li is also a graduate student of piano with Professor Amy I-Lin Cheng at Oklahoma City University. She was born in Wuhan, China, where she received her Bachelor's degree in piano performance at the Wuhan Conservatory of Music. She won second prize in the Strauss Piano Competition in Hubei, China; and a Prize in Excellence from the First Chinese Piece Competition in Hong Kong. After placing first in the Wuhan District Piano Competition, she was invited to perform in Beijing, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.
